The Department of Transportation Bureau of motor Carrier Safety has adopted certain regulations for the protection and safety of both the charter customer and drivers. Drivers are limited to:
(1) 15 consecutive hours on duty in any one day (including 1/2 hour of driver preparation)
(2) Of this 15 consecutive hours, a maximum of 10 hours may be actual driving hours and
(3) If upon reaching a destination the driver's total driving hours have been used, the driver must have a minimum of eight (8) hours off before local service may be performed or begin an extended period of driving.
Drivers must comply with the charter orders and no deviations are permitted without office approval. Carrier reserves the right to charge for any/all additional services not contracted for prior departure. Fuel costs are based on current prices. Additional significant increases in mileage and hours of service requested by the customer during a trip (over and above the trip itinerary) will be billed at the end of the trip.
Seating and Safety: Safety is a top priority to both you and Rohrer Bus Service. We ask that all passengers remain seated at all times. The total number of passengers cannot exceed seating capacity of the bus. Charter groups must provide adequate supervision and discipline. For your SAFETY, our drivers must devote their full attention to driving. Safety regulations require that the center aisle of the bus must be kept clear at all times.
Equipment: The performance described in the confirmation is subject to our providing the equipment and service. In case of mechanical problems or causes of the equipment not being available, the carrier reserves the right to substitute equipment to perform the service with no additional cost to the charter party.
Detailed itineraries: If itineraries are necessary for trip completions, they should list all stops with adequate addresses and/or directions. Itineraries MUST be in writing to our office at least seven (7) days prior to departure.
Cleanliness: Cleanliness is both the responsibility of the customer and the driver.
Smoking: Company policy prohibits smoking or use of tobacco products on all of our vehicles at any time.
Alcohol: (Per our discretion) an additional non refundable charge of $150.00 per vehicle will be added to the cost of the charter. We request that any customer
granted permission to have alcohol on the vehicle act in a respectable and responsible manner.
Damages: Any damages to the vehicle, caused by the charter party will be charged to the charter party by the carrier.
Cancellation: Trips not paid before the date of the trip are subject to cancellation without notice. Before canceling a trip, reasonable efforts will be made to contact the customer if final payments are not received.
The cancellation policy is as follows:
1. If the trip is cancelled more than fifteen (15) days prior to the departure date, there will be NO charges incurred.
2. If the trip is cancelled between fifteen (15) and seven (7) days prior to the departure date, there will be a $25.00 charge per vehicle.
3. If the trip is cancelled with less than seven (7) days prior to the departure date OR the trip is cancelled on the departure date, but before the vehicle(s) departs the Rohrer lot, there will be a $50.00 charge per vehicle.
4. If the trip is cancelled at the pick up site, there will be a $100.00 charge per vehicle.
Liability: Rohrer Bus Service will make every effort to maintain the travel schedule you have requested. However, Rohrer Bus Service will not knowingly violate traffic laws and will NOT be responsible for any delays including, but not limited to, acts of nature, accidents, breakdowns, road conditions, or work stoppages; and we cannot guarantee any arrival or departure times. Rohrer Bus Service is not responsible for any items that may be left, lost or damaged on the vehicles including, but not limited to, luggage, clothing, jewelry, cash, electronics, packages, etc.
This contract is assumed to be made at Rohrer Bus Service, Duncannon, Pennsylvania. All costs incurred in the recovery of any charges unpaid in full will be borne by the contracting party. These charges may include legal and collection fees.
